Vickar Pre-owned Supercentre and Vickar Mitsubishi

The merger of June 1 of the Vickar Auto Group’s Vickar Mitsubishi – at 950 Regent Avenue West (next door to Vickar Community Chevrolet) – with Vickar Pre-owned SuperCentre – under the new name “Vickar Mitsubishi and Pre-Owned SuperCentre” – has already made a significant difference to sales for both operations.

The Pre-owned SuperCentre was opened two years ago in a much smaller facility on Dugald Road. “We quickly outgrew our previous location,” says managing partner Cantin. “This merger with Vickar Mitsubishi is a good fit. It’s a more central location, making it more convenient for our customers. We have a service department here. And we have room for a lot more vehicles.

“The transition has gone very well and our sales have grown tremendously in just the first month at our new location.

“We aim to be the home of Transcona’s best selection of pre-owned vehicles,” he says.

“Having Tony and his Vickar Pre-owned SuperCentre team move here has been a huge plus for our store,” adds Fawaz Azhar, who was recently appointed general sales manager at the combined operation. “Tony has been in the industry for a long time and is a smart buyer. And his team combined with our team make our staff that much stronger.

“I am seeing a more positive attitude here overall.”

The Vickar Auto group introduced the Mitsubishi brand to Winnipeg in 2003. Vickar Mitsubishi stocks about 100 new vehicles.

Cantin says that he is very impressed with the Mitsubishi product lines that he is also now responsible for. “The Mitsubishi product is amazing,” he says. “I have driven every one of the models and have to say that the product is really underrated.”

Cantin adds that he is trying to foster a sense of family at the merged operation. “There is no pressure here,” he says. “We are trying to give people who shop here an enjoyable experience.”
